EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- At least 30 people were injured after a car plowed through a crowd in East Hollywood, authorities said, and the driver was pulled from the vehicle and shot after the crash.

The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. At least seven people were in critical condition, six were in serious condition and more than a dozen were treated on site, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Twenty-three patients were transported.

Among the injured was a male with a gunshot wound, the LAFD said. Authorities said 124 fire personnel responded at the scene.

Witnesses said bystanders also took the driver of the vehicle out of his car and attacked him following the car ramming. The driver was shot during the melee, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The shooter remained at large.

The LAFD initially said the driver had apparently lost consciousness at the time of the crash. The Fire Department later told ABC7 that despite initial reports, the agency could no longer confirm that the driver lost consciousness.

The victims were standing outside of music venue The Vermont. The crowd included clubgoers, valet attendants and food vendors from a nearby taco stand, according to the fire department.

LAFD Capt. Adam Van Gerpen said that a line of people - the majority female - were waiting to enter the nightclub when they were struck by a Nissan Versa that also hit the taco truck and valet stand.

People inside the club came out to help in the minutes before emergency crews arrived, he said, to help the victims.

"They were all standing in line going into a nightclub. There was a taco cart out there, so they were ... getting some food, waiting to go in. And there's also a valet line there," Van Gerpen said. "The valet podium was taken out, the taco truck was taken out, and then a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle."

The club was hosting a reggae/hip hop event from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., according to its online calendar.

"This is a heartbreaking tragedy. I want to thank the more than 100 LAFD and LAPD personnel who responded to the scene to help to save lives," Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement. "The hearts of Angelenos are with all of the victims impacted this morning - a full investigation into what happened is underway."

The LAPD is investigating the cause and motive of the crash.

This is the future once whitey is bye-bye, coloreds.
(Illegal) Brownoids will drag you out and lay you to waste. No due process, no kike judge to coddle you from death row to community service. You die next to the cold nigger and his slant-eyed date.

Back home in Mexico, he could’ve run them all over and got away with it in time to get even more piss drunk.

LA is a hot dry shithole.

There's been a bunch of developments and it looks like a deliberate attack. The New York Times has a paywalled version of the same info as this report from The Sun:
A DRIVER intentionally drove into a crowd of club-goers in Los Angeles, police said.

Fernando Ramirez, 29, had been kicked out of The Vermont Hollywood nightclub in the early hours of Saturday for causing a disturbance.
But he returned moments later and allegedly drove into the crowd deliberately and injuring at least 30 people, according to cops.

Ramirez was dragged from the car, handcuffed by security, beaten by furious bystanders, and then shot in the back by a man who fled the scene, police said.
[In Spanish] "Kick me out for causing a disturbance?? I'll show you a disturbance, motherfucker!!" (probably)

I can't find a non-paywalled site for updates on the victims, but headlines from asshole media sites say seven people are in critical condition as of yesterday.

Just in case anyone was looking for a Ghetto Bingo, the literal last 5 frames are someone with a pitbull on a chain that's just there for some reason. :story:

The driver isn't dead, he was just shot in the back. He also has an extensive criminal history to no ones surprise.

Police Capt. Ben Fernandes told KNBC-TV on Sunday that Ramirez was sentenced in 2020 for attacking a man outside of a Whole Foods grocery store in June 2019. He was on parole at the time of Saturday's crash, but it's unclear whether it was in connection with the 2019 attack or another case.

Ramirez has had at least 11 criminal cases ranging from misdemeanours to felonies, KNBC reported. In January 2022, he was charged with felony domestic battery and entered a not guilty plea. That case remains open.
