The Brief

  • In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder is moving her family out of California to Tennessee.
  • Snyder announced the move as the chain is working to open an office and several locations in Tennessee.
  • The company hopes to open its first restaurants in Tennessee by 2026, and close its Irvine office by 2030.
In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder announced she and her family are moving out of California as the company plans an eastward expansion.

What we know:

Snyder announced the move on an episode of the podcast Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey that aired on Friday.

"We're building an office in Franklin [Tennessee,] so I'm actually moving out there," Snyder said.

Snyder, the granddaughter of In-N-Out founders Harry and Esther Snyder, grew up in Northern California, before moving to Southern California, part of her decision she said, came down to her family.

"There's a lot of great things about California, but raising a family is not easy here," Snyder said. "Doing business is not easy here now."

The backstory:

In-N-Out announced an expansion to Tennessee back in 2023. In addition to the "Eastern territory office" in Franklin, Tennessee, the company said it will open multiple restaurants in the state.

Earlier this year, In-N-Out also announced that it would be moving its corporate headquarters from Irvine back to Baldwin Park, where the restaurant was founded in 1948. While the original plan was to close the Irvine office by 2029, Snyder said in her recent interview that In-N-Out would be closing the Irvine office by 2030, instead.

What's next:

Snyder said that the majority of In-N-Out restaurants would still be in California. In May, the company announced seven new restaurants were coming across the U.S., with four of them in California. Other locations are being planned in Washington and New Mexico as well.

With Snyder moving out east, she speculated in the podcast about potential future locations elsewhere.

"Florida has begged us and we're still saying no. The East Coast states, we're saying no. We are able to reach Tennessee from our Texas warehouse," Snyder said, adding that, "Texas can reach some other states."

In-n-out is fucking amazing in California. It’s easily a step above standard fast food.

But Midwest? Fucking in-n-out would be solidly mid; table stakes. It’s like faggots don’t know how to make a goddamn burger.
Yeah. If they have Culver's it's fucking over for them. The Midwest knows how to burger. I always stop at Culver's when I'm passing through, no exceptions.

I've got a number of local burgeries. Most are little, actual, brick & mortar diners and there's a local chain we have as well. And the diners get their shit from local farmers so things are fresh as.

I've never seen an immigrant in any of these places. Even in the nigger infested area I work in, all these burger places higher white highschool and college kids. The service is impeccable, quality is always good and consistent, and prices haven't budged an inch in fucking decades.

I guess this retarded spiel boils down to local eateries always being better than national chains.

I saw someone post on another website that Whataburger was just Burger King in a cowboy hat and the Texans on the site lost their shit.

Maybe I'm old but it seems like Whataburger used to be good. Had it for the first time in years not too long ago and BK is almost exactly what I thought of it. Trash.

Unrelated to the article, but this chain is easily one of the most overrated slop producers in the entire US. It’s fucking awful.

All of the "good" fast food restaurants are overrated simply because it's still fast food. But In-N-Out is definitely better than most of the other slop joints. Speaking of vastly overrated fast food places, what the fuck is up with all the love for Chick-fil-A? Talk about mediocre, and yet lines of cars for days just to get a mid chicken sammich.

It’s Whites dude it’s White. Most Whites have never experienced an actual chicken fast food joint because they only eat at burger places which have the shittiest chicken ever imaginable.

Any nigger knows of ten chicken shops that put Chick/fil/a to shame.

It’s the sauces, but I don’t much care for it. I prefer Popeyes.
